The history behind hot springs
Since 2,000 B.C., ancient civilizations began to use thermal waters as a therapeutic measure, although it was in 1986 when they were declared as an alternative tool to enjoy good physical and mental health.
Thus arose a new discipline, medical hydrology -part of the natural sciences that deal with water-, accepted as complementary medicine by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Science reaffirms its use and curative properties in the face of the increasing affections of modern life caused by the deterioration of the environment, stress, and the tensions caused by the noise of cities and daily chores.
Benefits of Hot Springs
Due to their high temperatures, thermal waters are considered curative because they increase the oxygenation of the body. Its regular use can help cure diseases such as dermatitis, rheumatism or metabolic and digestion problems.
It is recommended to use them with caution and supervision, especially in case of pregnancy or if the patient suffers from pressure problems.
Despite their medicinal properties, thermal waters are not recommended for people suffering from cancer, tuberculosis, or severe hypertension.
